How many DVDs do you buy a year? You probably buy more than you think – whether you buy all the latest releases or just a few DVDs a year I bet you also buy some for other people as birthday presents or stocking-fillers at Christmas. When you add them up, too, it probably comes to more than you thought.
Now you know how many you buy, do you know how much they cost? Maybe you also got a box set or two, which will bump the value of them all up. E.g. that Friends Box Set you’d always wanted? Did you buy them all from the same shop, too? Perhaps you thought that they sold the cheapest DVDs so you were happy to pay their price?
It may not surprise you to know that no shop is always the cheapest, not even Amazon! But did you know that they can often vary in price significantly? Even the latest movie releases can vary in price by over 50% between the cheapest and most expensive shops! That’s a large amount even on a single movie DVD – if you’re buying a box set then the price difference can be enormous! You may not always be so concerned when buying a single DVD, but if you think how much extra you’re spending over the course of a year then it adds up to an amount that I’m sure you’d prefer to save and spend on something else too!
So, now you know that by shopping around you can save a huge amount of money per year on DVDs. But it must be hard work, mustn’t it? There are so many shops selling DVDs online – to visit them all checking their price really isn’t worth the effort, is it? Well, you’re half right! If you have to do it yourself then no, you could argue that it wasn’t worth the time taken to log on to all the different sites. Maybe you’d check a couple, but not 20 or 30 DVD shops – that’d be silly!
Well, help is at hand! Don’t go to the effort of checking all those sites yourself, use a DVD price comparison site instead and let it do all the hard work checking DVDs! A good price comparison site will compare your DVD price at all the top DVD retailers in seconds and show you the prices they’re all charging – then you simply visit the cheapest shop and buy, safe in the knowledge that that extra minute has saved you spending more of your hard-earned money than you needed to!
Also, some of these price comparison sites will also list any voucher codes that the shops may have, enabling you to get discounts off the published price too. Why pay full price if the shop’s got a voucher code available?
So why not try it yourself – when you next need to buy a DVD why don’t you check the price at a DVD price comparison site first and see how quick and easy it is – you’ll be surprised!

How can I transfer the data in my v-box to dvd without a dvd recorder?
I have some TV programmes recorded and keep them in my v-box. Unfortunately I don’t have a dvd recorder, but have a laptop which can deal with dvd. I would like to know how to transfer the data from v-box to dvd without a dvd recorder but with a laptop. Is it impossible without a dvd recorder? I appreciate it if you let me know the way to solve my problem.
it’s not impossible.. unless your laptop has a video card that includes video capture (most laptops don’t, ), you’d need a USB video grabber to record the programmes to your laptop harddrive (go to amazon and search “video grabber USB” or “video capture USB” to see what i mean). once on your harddrive you use dvd burning software or the software that comes with the grabber to burn them to disc. they’re cheaper than dvd recorders, but the cheap ones are annoying because of dodgy quality (things like your screensaver kicking in can mess up a recording) and badly written software, and the better ones are annoying because of overcomplicated software, and you usually have to learn all about video configuration settings. a dvd recorder is more expensive but less complicated and more reliable. unfortunately either way, dvd recorder or USB video capture, you’ll have to re-record the programmes in real time, playing on your v-box while recording on your other device; you can’t just get the data off the v-box’s harddrive, it’s written in v-box language that your computer won’t understand- that’s the whole point of v-boxes and sky boxes, to prevent you getting the raw data so that you have to keep your box. sorry!

I am looking for a dvd where the steps are easy to follow. I want something that clearly demonstates each move.
I want it to be clear that I am not looking for porn or anything containing nudity. I am seeking a DVD that can teach pole dancing as fitness, not as stripping.
