How long after cinema release does a film take to get on to DVD/Blu-Ray?
I think the question says it all really. As an example, “Thor” was released in cinemas on 27th April. Approximately what date will this be released on DVD and BR? I heard the average length is around 17 weeks, but I’ve not found anything to back this up with. If it was 17 weeks, “Thor” would be released around 5th August on DVD/BR, but it has not been announced yet and Amazon, amongst other sites, are listing it as available for pre-order but have not got a date for it yet. Thanks.
